To create an urban park above the city in terms of destroying the historical highline is really remarkable from the point of using potentials of the place, saving its integrity and its image in the collective memory, recycling it with an effective function, and founding a non-profit organization to maintain it. However, specifically, the point which caught my attention is to reuse that sleeping potential in a very contemporary way, and to make use of the possibilities of industrial heritage by sweeping out and reviving collective memory.
*Owned by the City of New York, the High Line is a public park maintained, operated, and programmed by Friends of the High Line, in partnership with the New York City Department of Parks & Recreation.
