Teatina-Quincha shelter

Place : Desierto costa sur, Peru

Type/subject/tags : Alexia León, Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile

“This project tackles a major issue in the emergency architecture debate: how to articulate a temporary solution with its long-run effects? Related to Le Corbusier’s maisons murondins and taking advantage of labor force and dry coastal weather, this woven bamboo and adobe structure provides a temporary shelter as light as a tent but less vulnerable. Organic materials warranty the reuse of its components and the absorption of possible debris.”
